“The world is full of hatred because it refuses to be poor. It wants to conquer fear with power. But you will conquer in another way, the unknown way. First, perhaps, you will forget. You will not see. You will not understand. Later you may see, and then you will know that the false self must die in order for the true self to be born.” -Michael D. O'Brien, Strangers and Sojourners
Being free and truly human is not a small task and many of us struggle to find out what this really means. We are constantly bombarded with messages, voices, and ideas that seek to convince us of one perspective or another. I do not aspire to convince you, I only hope to help you find your own voice. Therapy is a place where one exists in the liminal and the uncertain, between the garden and the forest. What is beyond the tree line? I propose it is better to walk with companions into the wood than to go by oneself. We may enter seething and unknowing, but on the other side, we could become part of a greater mystery.
Bio:
I am a husband and father. These are the two most important roles I will ever fill in my life and they are only strengthened by the ones that give me them. Indeed, they are not just roles, but who I am.
When I am not caring for my family and my clients, I enjoy fine woodworking, camping, hiking, good food, and sharing each of these experiences with anyone I meet and with whom I spend time.
I began my experience in therapy through an internship with Turning Point in Fort Collins, working as an outpatient therapist and a crisis therapist at their residential facility for teenagers. From there I moved on to work at Harvest Farm in Wellington, CO until the end of Spring 2024. Currently, I work solely in my private practice.
